Meet Genna Hellier
I am a qualified English teacher with over twenty years of experience teaching in leading international schools in the UK, Switzerland, Japan and the Middle East. I have led English and Drama departments, taught across multiple curricula, and guided hundreds of students through the IB Diploma Programme.
I now work online with students worldwide, helping them master IB English Language & Literature and approach exams with calm, clarity and confidence. I also support GCSE, A-Level and EAL learners, and regularly coach students with their university applications and personal statements.

My Philosophy
I believe English only becomes stressful when students don’t know what examiners want or how to express their thinking.
My lessons are calm, structured, warm and human - a blend of humour and rigour.
I meet each student where they are, break complex tasks into clear steps, and help them build skill and confidence piece by piece.
SEN Experience
I bring deep experience supporting students with SEN (including autistic profiles, ADHD, PDA and anxiety). Learning must feel safe, supported and adapted. Every student deserves to feel capable and proud of their progress.
Home Education Support
I also work closely with home educated students in the UK, offering structured English provision and academic guidance for families navigating learning outside of school. I can provide core English teaching or targeted support alongside home education plans, depending on what the student needs.
